Our Mission:
To encourage, equip and inspire the Church body both nationally and
internationally to incorporate the performing arts as both a means of worship
and effective evangelism.
Our
Story:
Hope in Glory was founded in 2006 by Caleb Gillman and Andrew Cardy. They had
been college roommates at Palm Beach Atlantic University along with their dear
friend Larry Sparks. They always seemed to have long discussions stating the
desire to restore quality and effective theatre back into the Church. Through
God's leading
they went separate paths but both finally came to the place where they cried
out, "Here I Am. Send Me" God had been working in both of their lives to bring
this ministry to fruition and only by His grace did they decide for such a time
as this. So Hope in Glory was founded. The very first evening performance was on
November 4, 2006 at Switzerland Community Church. They had called one of their
old college classmates, Vandell Lloyd, to come take part. Andrew had also
recruited Tiffany Riner as well as Joseph Smith to complete the first rag tag
crew. That evening was nothing short of awe inspiring. God moved in such a great
way, there was no turning back. Since that night, Hope in Glory has had the
privilege to perform at numerous other events both in Florida and to a global
audience. In August 2007, almost a year to the date of their founding, Hope in
Glory launched their Educational Theatre Division. This not only meant that
Andrew Cardy went full time with the ministry, but also the addition of another
staff, Rose Loiacono. As Hope in Glory continues to grow and put their name out
there, it seems that the sky is truly the limit.

Frequently
Asked Questions:
Who are we?
We are a group of poets, writers, painters, actors, musicians, singers, dancers,
sculptors, toe tapping warriors and revolutionaries who live to see God
glorified through lives of worship and obedience. We desire to defeat the
negative attitude of our culture and the complacency of the Church subculture by
engaging both in a radical abandonment to a bold pronouncement of hope in God
expressed through the talents and gifts God has given each of us.
What does "Hope in Glory" mean?
Partially taken from a passage in Colossians 1, where it calls Christ in us the
hope of Glory, and partially from the notion of hope. We all need hope,
especially in a world where fear drives us, we need to hope in something. One of
the greatest characteristics that sets believers in Christ apart is the ability
and the confidence to hope. To hope in the Glory of God and know that we may not
see Him, or understand why things happen the way they do, but we can know He is
exactly who He says He is. And that is more than enough for all of us. That is
our hope in Glory.
What's Our Plan?
First we will enter into the Church in order to encourage, equip, and inspire
them to be creative in their worship and in their congregations. We will do this
through workshops and special events like performances of varying degrees. We
then incorporate members from the church into our professional production, a
worship evening featuring sketches, dances, songs, monologues, spoken word,
maybe even live drawing or painting.
We also will look to bring this message of hope into any and every venue that
welcomes us. We will seek to find doors to open in order to minister to the
needs of the communities we take part in.
That's the springboard, my friends. Within ten to twelve years we aim to have
our own facility to perform in house full scale professional productions as well
as continue sending teams across the globe to minister through the performing
arts and lives of worship and speaking the message of hope.
Why this way? Why not go to New York or Chicago and try to change
the culture from that angle?
And the answer to that is this: The Church used to be the center of all
creativity. All the great painters, writers, actors, musicians, all came from
and were inspired by the Biblical teachings they had grown up listening to.
Somewhere along the way, we lost that power. We lost the ability, whether we
abused it or we simply didn't fight for what was ours. And now, I firmly
believe, is the time "for such a time as this" to rally the Church and take back
what is ours. To use what the world has tainted and poisoned and return to it's
original roots and purposes. But yes, there are many very strong Christians
(many of them our dearest friends) choosing to be an influence that way.
However, very few great battles have ever been won on just one front. I believe
firmly that there is a great amount of healing and aggressive inspiring that
needs to be done among the church body. We aim to concentrate in this particular
place of need.
What can I do to help?
First and foremost...pray. Please join us in prayer, because prayer is the only
way to k nock
down doors that have long been shut and to bind Satan as he tries to discourage
and distract those of us launching a movement against him. If you would like to
be included in our prayer list, please send an e-mail to the address below and
we will keep you updated on our events and include you in our prayer
newsletters.
Secondly, if you possess a heart to participate, let us know! We are always
eager to receive more writers, actors, and other performing artists who would
like to engage in this battle to hope and heal. We may not be able to use
everyone or everything right away, but a willing servant heart is always used by
God.
Thirdly, if you are a youth pastor or pastor or anyone who thinks your church
would be interested in hosting us then please let us know, we're looking for
more bookings and opportunities to get our name out there. We primarily work on
weekends due to the present necessity of supporting ourselves, but we are eager
to work with anyone and everyone who wants us to. Of course, being able to help
with travel expenses is always a plus!
If you are led to support
us financially, we are in the process of receiving our official 501c3 status.
Switzerland Community Church of Jacksonville FL has graciously allowed us to
work through them until that time. All tax deductible donations may be made to
Switzerland Community Church for Hope in Glory. For more information on how to
donate, please call us at (904) 562-0734 or e-mail
hopeinglory@gmail.com
Just remember to keep us in your thoughts, pray for us and more importantly,
choose yourself to live a life of bold and daring worship worthy of our
Infinitely Creative King.
May God bless you as He reveals His purposes in you.
